Part of my 40 years of collecting shells, I have many up for sale so take a peek. This is a beautiful whelk shell. Stands 4" tall 6" wide. Look at the unique and unusual color in this. Mother nature sure knows how to create such beautiful things for us to admire. I am not an expert but looking in my shell book, I believe this to be a cold water tropical whelk by its color. Just mangificant! Heavy for its size would make a great paperweight besides a decor piece. Remember shells are like snowflakes not two exactly the same and each is different and never perfect. Part of my 40 years of collecting shells, I have many up for sale so take a peek. This is one of my first items I bought when I was a young girl. It fasinated me that you can somewhat see through this shell, it is somewhat transparent. It stands 5" tall and 5" wide, very unique shell in the back. The entire creation is out of shells, they are not perfect and one of the leaves I believe might have been pointed at one point, but I have no idea for sure. It's a good 40 years old and I hope it will inspire someone else to really look at shells and all the wonder they hold.
